Jihadi leader Abdul Rab Rasul Sayyaf stated today, Monday (March 10), in response to the Taliban’s decision to hold a Loya Jirga, that this gathering “will not heal the nation’s wounds.”
In a post on his X account, Sayyaf emphasized that “only the Taliban and those favored by them will be present at this Jirga.” He added that organizing such a gathering by the Taliban is “a form of belittling the country’s historical tradition.”
Citing a classic Persian poem, Sayyaf remarked: “You are the pot, the potter, and the clay of the pot. You yourself rise to buy the pot.” He stressed that “apart from the Taliban, no one else will ever buy this pot.”
These comments come amid reports that Taliban leaders are planning to convene a Loya Jirga aimed at securing legitimacy for their administration.
