Taliban Fighters Kill Two Young Men in Kunar by Gunfire

Local sources in Kunar province have told IntelMedium that two young men were killed as a result of gunfire from Taliban members.

According to the sources, the incident occurred after a dispute between two groups of young people who had gone to the area for recreation. Taliban fighters, who intervened to control the conflict, directly opened fire on the young men, resulting in the death of two individuals.

The incident took place yesterday evening (Monday, April 11) around 6:00 PM in the Shinkork area of Shigal district.

Sources confirm that the Taliban fighters were tourists who had come from Logar province to Kunar.

One of the victims was a resident of Kunar’s center, and the other was from the Sarkanoy district of the province.

Additionally, one of the young men was an international medical student in his final year.

Taliban officials in Kunar have not yet commented on the incident.

This is not the first time the Taliban have resorted to direct gunfire during small conflicts and disputes, a practice that has claimed the lives of many civilians across Afghanistan.
