
Unidentified Gunmen Kill Former Police Officer in Kabul
Local sources have reported to IntelMedium that unidentified gunmen targeted and killed Hassan Jabarkhil, a former officer of the Ministry of Interior in the former Republic government, in the Shakardara district of Kabul.
A source close to Jabarkhil’s family stated that he had no known enemies and that the cause and perpetrators of the incident remain unknown.
According to information, last Saturday night, Hassan Jabarkhil was abducted from his home in the Kolola Pushta area of Kabul by unknown individuals and taken to an unknown location. His family discovered his body in the Shakardara district of Kabul the following night.
Sources added that Jabarkhil was shot dead, with bullet wounds visible on his body, including a gunshot to his chest.
This former Ministry of Interior officer had recently served as the deputy commander of the Kabul-Jalalabad highway security unit.
His father, General Asif Jabarkhil, a senior official at the Ministry of Interior during the Republic era, now resides in Germany.
General Jabarkhil had previously served as the commander of Kabul International Airport.
Hassan Jabarkhil, 34 years old, was originally from the Qarghio district of Laghman province. He was married and had four children, two daughters and two sons. His eldest daughter is 13 years old, and his sons are between 8 and 10 years old.
Since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, daily reports of former military personnel being killed have emerged. However, the Taliban have not responded to these killings and refer to the perpetrators as “unknown individuals.”
