Expulsion of 674 Afghan Migrant Families from Iran and Pakistan Over the Past Week
According to reports from the Bakhtar News Agency under Taliban control, in the past week (March 8 to March 14), Iran and Pakistan have expelled 674 Afghan migrant families.
During this period, Iran forcibly or voluntarily returned 564 families, while Pakistan expelled 110 families back to Afghanistan.
Statistics collected by IntelMedium show that 110 families entered Afghanistan through the Spin Boldak border. Meanwhile, 150 families returned via the Pul-e-Abrisham border in Nimroz province, and 414 other families crossed back into the country through the Islam Qala border in Herat.
This comes as Pakistan has kept the Torkham border crossing closed for the past 23 days, leaving thousands of people, including patients, stranded on both sides of the border.
Despite this, both Pakistan and Iran have intensified the forced deportation of Afghan migrants, with dozens of Afghan citizens being arrested by the police in these countries every day.
Meanwhile, some migrants have complained of mistreatment, beatings, and harassment by the police in both Pakistan and Iran.
