Gold Mine Collapse in Takhar: 9 Workers Trapped Under Debris
Local sources in Takhar province reported to IntelMedium today, Tuesday, that a gold mine collapse in the Chah Ab district of the province has trapped nine workers under the debris.
According to these sources, since last night, the efforts of local residents to rescue the trapped individuals have not been successful. It is said that local Taliban authorities have also not taken any action to provide aid or rescue the trapped workers so far.
The Taliban officials in Takhar have yet to respond to the incident.
This comes after two residents of Panjshir province were recently trapped under an avalanche. The body of one of them was found after local efforts, but the second individual remains missing.
The Taliban have not taken any action in this case either.
Every year, dozens of people lose their lives due to natural disasters, mine collapses, and avalanches.
