The Mayor of Badakhshan Arrested for Bribery and Administrative Corruption
According to local sources, IntelMedium reports that Mawlawi Abdul Ghafour Seerat, the mayor of Badakhshan province, has been arrested for administrative corruption and bribery.
Based on information provided by Taliban intelligence sources, Mawlawi Seerat was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) in his office, where he was beaten after the arrest and then transferred to the intelligence headquarters.
So far, Taliban officials have not made any official statements regarding the arrest.
This incident comes after local sources also reported the arrest of a Taliban commander in Kabul earlier this week, caught stealing 100,000 Afghanis from a house.
